BSA Journey to Excellence Unit Award

Journey to Excellence is the Boy Scouts of America program to help Packs, Troops, Crews, Ships and Posts to plan, monitor and evaluate their performance and their ability to serve youth.   There are specific criteria for the unit to plan and accomplish. These standards are reviewed each year and revised standards are published.

BSA National Outdoor Challenge Unit Award

To encourage troops to do more outdoor trips and long-term camping, have an annual program plan, have an activity with a Webelos den, conduct a Leave No Trace program, and teach outdoor-related merit badges.

Lost Dutchman District Maverick Camporee

Maverick Camporee started decades ago as the fall camporee for the Mesa District. In 2018 when the districts were realigned Maverick was moved to the Lost Dutchman District where it remains as one of the premier troop led events in our council.
